ABOUT

The Director

Joel Jost plays the swindling Little Jake as well as being the Director and Producer of Little Jake and Harry.

A pic of Joel

Homeschooled, Joel graduated from high school last year and since then has devoted his attention to the intriguing world of film making; delving deep into the mysteries of varying DPI and different techniques that make a movie what it is.  His dreams eventually formulated into Hagiazo Films©, a film making company purposed to bring you quality enjoyment with quality content.  Hagiazo is a Greek word for being set-apart, holy, and sanctified by God. And that is what he wants his films to be.

Joel is the fourth oldest in the delightful Jost family of 13,  one of eight boys.  They all live up in beautiful Alberta, in the southern half of the province a mere couple of miles from the border.  The incredible landscape of the area is seen throughout the movie. The movie was made for under $300 dollars!

Little Jake and Harry is Joel’s first feature length film, but he definitely promises that it won’t be his last!

The Script

Little Jake and Harry was adapted from the well known Bible story of Jacob and Esau by Jesse Jost, a talented writer and Joel’s older brother.  Jesse mostly writes apologetics, having published an assortment of books and booklets and also writing for various columns.  The script of Little Jake and Harry is his first composition for the silver screen.  He hopes to be able to write more for Joel’s various planned film exploits, and he most likely will.  Homeschooled as well, Jesse learned to write at home, where he extensively studied apologetics.

Jesse lives with his beautiful and wise wife, Heidi Jost, and their son, John-Michael,  on an acreage near their parents in the southern end of Alberta.  Heidi plays the part of the crafty Rebekah in the film.

The Soundtrack

Composed by Lisa Jost (mom), the soundtrack for “Little Jake and Harry” includes the unique talent of Dale Jost (Indian chief in the movie) on the dobro, Josiah Jost( He plays Harry in the movie) on the bass guitar, Lisa Jost with vocals and acoustic guitar, and Emily Jost (played Rachel in the movie) with vocals. The soundtrack uses the Josties unique style to get it’s point across,  enhancing the western feel, and pointing out some of the errors in Little Jake’s ways.

Lisa Jost composes all the music for the Josties , a home run ministry that  the whole family is involved in.
